First Fundraiser is Huge Success Despite Inclement Weather! Mesquite, TX March 6, 2008: Over 80 dedicated people battled freezing rain, snow and sleet to attend the First Fun & Fundraiser held Thursday evening, March 6, 2008 at Double D Ranch in Mesquite. Despite the horrible weather conditions, the campaign drive was a huge success. Rachel welcomed and visited with each guest as they dined on quesadillas, ratones and other delicious morsels catered by Oscar's Grill. She later shared her vision for the future of Mesquite and how she plans to make a difference once she is elected to the City Council. Guests were seen standing in line to fill out volunteer forms and make financial contributions to support Rachel's campaign. Under the circumstances, attendance was better than expected. It was inspiring to see so many people come in out of the cold and warm up to Rachel's enthusiasm and her ideas about the positive growth she envisions for Mesquite.
